Fun in the San Diego Sun!

Our San Diego vacation was great! We didn't have a plan really (which is not like us) but that turned out to be quite relaxing. We left Tucson at 5am on Tuesday morning to drive over when there was no traffic and the weather was still cool. Of course we made all the stops along the way at various McDonald's and gas stations so I could pee or get food. We got to our hotel by 11:00 and they asked us if we wanted to upgrade for a minimal amount per night to a view room. Of course I said yes and it was well worth it - here is the view from our room:

We grabbed some lunch and walked the boardwalk along Pacific Beach before returning to our room for a quick nap. Later that day we walked on the beach and then had a yummy dinner at this new funky hotel a few blocks away.

Wednesday we decided to go to the Scripps Aquarium - what a bust! It was not that great. Sure there were some cool fish and things to see but I have been to better aquariums and we were kind of disappointed. Since we were already in La Jolla I remembered there is a place where the seals come up on the beach and you can check out the tide pools.

This seal laying on the rock is sometimes how I feel with my big belly =)

We got to see an old college friend of mine Wednesday night for dinner at her house with her husband and two kids. It was great to catch up and just hang out.

Thursday we were off to the zoo! We did not get to see the pandas as the line was far too long and I was getting too tired. We did see lots of cool animals and spent well over 3 hours at the zoo until our feet could not take anymore. When we were at the Polar Bear exhibit it was feeding time so the bears came right up to the glass - it was awesome. Here are some pics of the animals:

This kangaroo has a baby in her pouch too! =)

We finished the trip with another walk on the beach and then a walk out Crystal Pier to see the sunset and we even saw dolphins! We had another yummy seafood filled dinner and then off to bed listening to the crashing of the waves before driving home Friday morning.

Hi from Stacey's friend Laura in Chandler. Love the tummy picture. :) Glad you had a fun last trip alone before you become a family of three. Hope you are feeling well. Looking forward to someday checking your blog and seeing your son in your arms! :)
