Tonight we were signed up for the hospital tour at The Women's Center at Northwest Hospital. Now we really did not know what to expect but wanted to get a feel for where we will be going in a couple of weeks so we decided to give it a try. All in all it was not that informative but a few of the people on the tour were interesting and gave us something to talk about. There was this one couple in particular that brought their very poorly behaved toddler with them - the guy was wearing combat boots, jean shorts and never took off his sunglasses and the mom-to-be looked like she might have done a few too many drugs in her life. Not to be judgemental, okay maybe just a little, these people were trash! Their kid was out of control, they were bizarre and no one on the tour could stand them. There is always one in every group!
Anyway, the rest of the people were cool and the best part of the tour was we got an impromptu talk with an anesthesiologist who answered all kinds of questions and gave the honest truth about epidurals and what to expect. She was great! The time we spent listening to her was well worth the other wierdos we had to put up with. Oh, and of course the trashy people had all kinds of stories to tell about terrible epidural experiences. At one point the Dr. was talking about a complication that can occur and how they fix it and Erin asked a question and the crazy lady started answering it at which point Erin said, "I asked the Doctor." This is the same crazy who was sitting on floor of the hospital with her toddler! Yeah, I don't think we want your medical advice - thanks.
