Friends

I am a lucky girl and have some very dear friends.  My bestest friend is Christine.  We met 20 years ago this September, yes that is 20 years ago, our freshman year of High School! The story of how we met is kind of long but let's just sum it up that God must have wanted us to be friends.  Thank you Charlie - you are still a mystery to us.  Our friendship has shared many ups and downs and experienced life that doesn't always go according to plan but it's only allowed us to grow closer that we feel like family.  Christine now lives in Phoenix so our visits are more spread out but we still make time for each other as often as we can.

Anyway, I love that Tanner is close enough in age to Christine's kids that they can all be friends.  Cade is 3.5 and Kayley will be 2 in a few weeks so she is just 7 months older than Tanner.  This past weekend Tanner and I went up for a much needed visit to hang out.  We had no plans and we didn't do anything which was just perfect.  The kids played and we talked (which neither of us have any trouble doing for inordinate amounts of time). My other good friend Stacey with her kids Ben and Abby came over for a bit to visit and it was just a nice weekend of hanging out.  It's so fun to see the kids play together now that T is older and can keep up.

Of course all good things must come to an end and Tanner woke from a nap back at home on Sunday with pink eye which was in both eyes by Monday.  After a visit to the pediatrician come to find out one ear tube was clogged and the other was draining. Poor kid just has a bad cold that makes everything worse.  Poor Kayley ended up with a double ear infection and one ear drum burst! At least we got a fun visit in before all the sickness took its toll.  Here are some pictures of our weekend.

Playing nicely
