Yesterday poor baby Tanner had his circumcision procedure at the pediatrician's office. Our doctor likes to do it at his office during the two week check up instead of at the hospital right after they are born. We love our pediatrician! He is super nice and patient and spends time with us and explains stuff and answers questions and does not make you feel stupid. I wish he could be my doctor!
First he did the two week check up and Tanner checked out great! He weighs 7 pounds 4 ounces which is relief for me knowing he is nursing well. They want babies to be back at their birth weight or over at their 2 week appointment since they lose weight after birth. Overall he is a healthy kid!
The circumcision went fine and when they brought him out to us Dr. Bean said that he was a funny baby and I asked why? He said that he was addicted to the sugar water they give him to help soothe him (even though he also got a numbing shot too). He said Tanner could not get enough of the stuff! Well might be all those Starbucks I had while pregnant with him (decaf of course). He was probably thinking it tasted sorta like a Vanilla Latte!
He was a little cranky yesterday after the numbing medicine wore off and his pee pee was pretty swollen and red, but he has been fine today. Tough little guy!
