One Year Check-up

Tanner went in today for his one year check-up. Here are the stats:
22.2 pounds (50th percentile)
31 inches (almost 90th percentile!)
Head 47 cm (50th percentile)

Basically as usual he is long and lean. His weight is following a nice curve and is starting to flatten out as it should, but his height has jumped quite a bit! He got some shots and we have to go back in 4 weeks to do the second round of his regular flu shot so Dr. Bean broke up the other vaccines as well. No reason to poke him so many times if we have to come back anyway.
The doctor also checked all his developmental milestones which he passed and gave him a good bill of health! He also go to see T's new ear tubes (which apparently are green) and said all looks good in his ears. Tanner even walked for Dr. Bean which was nice since he was otherwise not in the best disposition =).

Here are some of Tanner's one year activities:
  • Half walking, half crawling depending on his patience
  • Throwing a ball
  • Playing with Che (which is the highlight of his day)
  • Reading Books - especially Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
  • Doing the hand movements for the spider when I sing Itsy Bitsy Spider
  • Pointing
  • Dancing - LOVES music
  • VERY interested in pressing buttons on TV, DVD player, remote, Blackberry, etc.
  • Eating almost anything we put in front of him except fruits (hates grapes) and vegetables although we have had a breakthrough on broccoli and blueberries lately.
  • Words: mama, dada, dog, ball, bye, hi (sometimes), and lots of gibberish which I know will be words some day
  • Signs: "all done" and "milk" are the best ones, "more" is hit and miss and we think sometimes he thinks it means puffs not "more!"

All in all he is a normal one year old that is figuring out this crazy world one day at a time!
